Let's Zumba! Roxanne
UPDATE as of 08/09/20 OUTDOOR CLASSES BEGIN, IN-STUDIO CLASSES POSTPONED
As you know, Sonoma County is still on the state coronavirus watchlist. As part of the required restrictions, I am unable to conduct any in person Zumba fitness classes inside. Therefore, all of my in-studio class sessions are postponed. However, I’ve chosen to explore the possibilities. With that, I have exciting news! Starting on August 16th, I will be holding my Sunday morning class outdoors! And, of course, with all precautions in place to keep us safe. This location opened up to me and I feel it works on many levels. It is a safe, level and wide open area, it’s well suited for social distancing, it’s on a beautiful and private hilltop, it is able to accommodate amplified music without disturbing neighbors, and it is centrally located in Santa Rosa. I ask for your discretion at sharing the location as I prefer people to not drop-in (to limit numbers and enable no-contact transactions) and reservations are required. It’s clear that 2020 hasn’t been easy for anyone. I know we've all been dealing with a measure of inconvenience, loss, worry and perhaps much more. My thoughts go out to everyone and if I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to reach out. My desire is for you to be healthy and well. So let's keep the endorphins flowing with dance! Thank you for being you, for your dedication, and for keeping this Zumba family alive. I can’t begin to describe the thrill I feel at the chance to dance with you in person again. Let's keep talking, staying connected, and leading with love.I'm so excited to see you!

ABOUT ZUMBA® FITNESS You're on the verge of trying Zumba®...
One of the biggest part-comment/part-questions I get from people is steeped in doubt and usually goes something like this… “Zumba. What is it? I’m not sure I can do it.” They go on to say, “I’ve never tried it . . . I’m really out of shape. . . I’m really uncoordinated. . . what happens if I can’t make it through class?”
Our first reply is always the same. . . do not worry. Really. It is nothing worth fussing over. Quite the opposite. We are all there to have fun. No judgment. Any fitness level can feel comfortable doing Zumba. Zumba has a base in Latin dance, but I choreograph moves to repeat, not be too complex and have the ability to be easily followed and picked up. Missteps are inevitable and no big deal. We tell our classes that nobody is watching you. . . they’re more focused on their own moves! Besides, mistakes are just proof that you’re trying, right? Typically, for absolute out-of-shape beginners, you’re hooked from your first class. . . but by about your eighth class, moves become more natural, you’re more able to anticipate what's next, and your fitness and stamina are already improving. Even instructors have been known to be a fumbling giggling mess during their first class. Things can obviously change, but what won’t is how much fun it is and how much we love Zumba. It has reawakened a spirit within, and given us fit, strong and happy bodies. . . even after a combined six kids. But enough about us. Back to you. We encourage all class participants to modify the intensity of their movements to match their fitness level. Whether you’re an athlete or you haven’t exercised in years, you can take the class at your pace. Jump higher and squat lower if you desire or take a moment by walking in place to catch your breath. Just keep moving. You will smile, you will sweat, you will accomplish goals. But first, you must try. Check it out for yourself by coming to class.
What is Zumba®?
The Zumba® program is an effective, exhilarating, Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning dance-fitness party that has taken the fitness industry by storm. Zumba® achieves a perfect balance of an all-over fitness experience. . . a progressive core workout, full-body cardio, strength training, and a stress-relieving, energy-producing workout in disguise. We fell in love when we took our first classes years ago. Today, more than 12 million people all sizes, shapes and ages take weekly Zumba® classes in over 110,000 locations across more than 125 countries. We design our classes to be easy-to-follow for both newcomers and Zumba® veterans. Boring? Oh no. Each of our 60 minute Zumba® classes use music and moves full of infectious fun... we can't help but simultaneously sweat and smile. Come experience a class in-person. Click here for our class schedule. ALL levels welcome!
